Sun day

Meyni says she’ll be up and about tomorrow, so I may make my pilgrimage with all good will. The children have been busy with their quests and games, and I have released them to it from lessons, for I have had no time to give lessons, with the understanding that they must make this a study in warfare and keep Pen safe.

I am overtired, I fear, but naught to be done of it. I am not overset. I am still muddled as to how to explain my complaints about the truth to my new friend, and I am still puzzled at having made a friend of a poor peasant of no blood nor manners. Perhaps the lack of manners reminds me of Sev.
