I am extremely impressed by your writing… particularly the luminous narrative ‘Tapestry’, but also by the playful scraps and “what if” stories you’ve made available on your account. I’ve opted to become a $5/month Patreon to help support your writing, but I’ve run into trouble accessing your old writing; the system won’t recognise my password, and it won’t let me in.
I suspect this is a case of several competing systems clashing — just on my end, Patreon, AOL and Mozilla are in use — and my password isn’t registering where it needs to register. Please would you grant me access to your old writing? I’m particularly interested in reading ‘Colony X’, and your NaNoWriMo entries.
You are a marvellous writer, and I hope you’ve retained that habit of writing!
Thanks for your patronage! I’ve had quite a year (a car accident and associated issues) but am working on a short story and my second draft of Colony X. I’ve fixed your membership level on the site and you should have access to CX’s first draft here – http://lucyweaver.net/tag/colony-x/page/4/ . I’ll be posting more of Tapestry and a short story on Patreon in February, and thanks again! Let me know if you have any problems with the site.
Dear Lucy:
What a dreadful year you’ve had/been having! I hope it was the *end* of 2016, and not the *beginning* of 2017.
Thank-you for fixing my account, but I’m afraid I still can’t access the NaNoWriMo material, and according to Firefox, the ‘Colony X’ address simply doesn’t exist.
Unfortunately I’m no computer maven (I detest the bloody things), so I don’t have a hope of sorting this all out. Help, please?
Sorry for the confusion – obviously I can’t claim to be that tech savvy either! I think I’ve successfully changed your account membership to the correct level now. *offers apology cup of tea*
Lucy —
Aaarghh, we’re running out of screen! Could we please shift communications to somewhere OTHER than the ‘Register’ page of your blog?
And yay, I now DO have access!!! MY version of Sev (engineering and related tech rather than military) insisted on rummaging through the WordPress and Patreon sites involved, and came up with a process whereby I can access the “Novels” section of your blog; it’s all a matter of being logged on to the right things, and then clicking on the right-things-now-visible on the menus. So yes, I’m in… and thank-you VERY much for your efforts to get me access, particularly because of (and not in spite of) your not being “tech savvy”. Me? I like to say I’m a modern-day Luddite….
Hmm, the triangular parentheses used to set off attributions just ‘vanish’ the enclosed text Let’s do THIS instead: **Gratefully accepts cup of tea, while wondering precisely what outed her as British**
